DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

New month, time to see the work that was hopefully done. I do know that I have a gigantic class library now so the diff is going to be insane.

Quite a ton of code changes, not to mention an insane commit count from the added library. Appears to be in the range of 530 commits. The month of October did not bring much at all, apart from the class library. But with the entire class library in the code, when I get compilation done it should be good. Appears yet another month goes by of which I lack a compiler, however my most recent work on my current loader is far superior to previous ones, I just need to finish it and hopefully I will have recompilation done by the end of the month, perhaps a working kernel hopefully.

So the main thing I have to do is finding the best way to store and set the current, super, and interface class names in the class file. They all use the constant pool so perhaps that should be used instead.

Will need to write descriptor parsing.

03:58

Still will need to write it.

20:27

Realized a problem with my descriptor code, in cases where a type is a valid binary name and a valid type name the situations would fail as the type takes higher priority. The two types are not really unique so I will have to split the naming code up a bit. That is so something is always of the expected type, so to speak.

20:35

This would fail for classes which consist of only a single letter, such as V which represents the void type.

23:08

What I need is reading of attributes. Attributes can be attached to anything and may have limitations, but are still limited to class files and their constant pools. Therefor I should go with my original plan to make them class bound like my existing consant pool and such.

23:22

These attribute readings have to be done right without causing major screwings with reading and such.
