DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

I will need to make virtual UTF8 entries in the pool for reference string types, otherwise references which use said entries will not include them.

11:32

This will cause the constant pool to not map 1:1, however it does not matter much.

12:02

When I get to class definitions, I can ignore the constant pool for the most part because they would be merged and everything would be using references.

This means however that Java byte code cannot be encoded as it would be missing the constant pool.

However, I could still write that information out anyway despite it having the potential of not being used. This would almost allow for a mapping back to class files from KBFs.

12:15

Now I must write out class information, but I should eat before that.

On my PowerPC laptop with its single core and JamVM interpreter, what I have now takes 35 minutes.

The power failed.
