DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

It is possible that the Java compiler in a bootstrap environment does not have to be run in the VM, but rather be external. However this might not work with some code so it would probably be best contained.

Cleared out the chm/ directory, it no longer exists.

Also cleaned up other, since it has gotten a bit messy.

Appears the only thing I did this month was refactor code. The new 3 stage hairball system is rather neat. I have not continued work on the split PowerPC code however.

I have this feeling that I want to write a simpler recompiler that is lighter and faster, but does not have any optimizations. It would just take input Java code and translate it quite literally in a rather single stage. It will generate slow code, however it will be fast and will permit me knowledge on how to make NARF and a good speedy NARF. I will not be deleting NARF however as that is not needed. I would just need to name it. I suppose another Pinky and the Brain reference is in line. Currently I use NARF for Neutral Architecture Recompilation Factories. So that leaves Zort, Poit, Troz, and a few others. I do not know what to do with Z, so I suppose that leaves Poit. I suppose something such as: Parallel Original Instruction Translator would work as a name. Parallel being left to right (and not many at once), original being the byte-code (literally), instruction also being the byte-code, and translator being it taking Java byte-code into native code. Sounds good. The compiler logic stuff is complex though but I can avoid it due to the way I designed the compilation system.
