DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

Some kind of STM could be handy in some areas of the garbage collector. However the memory cost can be high, so this would have to remain minimal.

I am going to need to decode generic type signatures and such, none of the Form stuff has it. But instead of infecting FormJavaType I am just going to make a new class, along with stuff that can get a generic signature.

Fell asleep, just kind of want to go back to sleep.

I believe the mascot for k8 will be a squirrel. However I am rather bad at grahical drawing but I do have a graphics tablet somewhere which might work with inkscape potentially.

Bootstrap method confusion. FormBootstrapMethod is generated from the attribute BootstrapMethods. It points to a method handle constant pool reference which is a FormDynamicLink.Handle. The invoke dynamic constant then points to this FormBootstrapMethod with a specified name and type. So the one from the constant pool is the exact type, while the one it points to is the calling bootstrap. So there is a double reference. So this means that FormDynamicLink.Dynamic how it currently is, is incorrect as it must just steadily point to the FormBootstrapMethod. So the FormDynamicLink.Dynamic is the invoke dynamic constant with its specified name and type, and it just points to a FormBootstrap method which is the bootstrap for it. The handle for the FormBootstrapMethod is the bootstrap method itself which contains a link to something. So modify Dynamic so that it uses FormBootstrapMethod instead of directly passed arguments.

I changed FormDynamicLink.Dynamic.Handle down to FormDynamicLink.Handle and I thought I would be fixing compile errors but I was confused when I was not. Since FormDynamicLink.Dynamic extends FormDynamicLink, the inner class Handle is easily found.

So far my rewritten class loading code is much much nicer than it was before.
