DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

Will need to figure out garbage collection and stuff on the locals and stack. I will need some kind of information on the stack which indicates which locations contain references to objects. During garbage collection the stack will be run and done first. I suppose that the stack is the most important as all objects are only directly reachable from it.

My MutableOpCode needs to handle varying architecture inputs if I want to permit multiple architectures to be used at the same time in the same chunk of code.

10:29

MachineToSSA needs to be more generic along with decodeOp stuff.

11:30

Next thing to do is have that field bit manipulation stuff be in a base class so that both the Assembler and Disassembler can use it.

11:57

I will also need to modify MutableOpCode and also perhaps have a sliding Disassembler view which uses a common interface between MutableOpCode and the sliding one. MutableOpCode would also have to handle situations where multiple operations could occur at the same time perhaps such as that in ia64.

ia64 is complex however and handling such things in my SSAProgram would be complex. It would be best if the refreshing code in SSAProgram handled such things as parallelism and such. That would probably be the best way to go. To have stacked operations which do not depend on others. The handler could in a way reorder things if it can be done.

I can at least have optimizer that can run on the segment, which currently there is the NONE optimizer which does nothing useful.
