DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

Looks like I will need to create a program header in the ELF for it to be loaded by something. I suppose program headers are shortcuts so to speak so the ELF loader is simpler and does not have to worry about 10,000 sections.

Now to write the program header.

And now I have a kernel bootloader which is loaded by QEMU, which increments and decrements two registers.

The bootstrap also works (the 32-bit code) in the PowerPC 64-bit QEMU emulator also (as it should).

I suppose now that I have a bootable bootstrap, time to get back to generated machine code from Java code. My build configuration stup is rather nice since I added the ability to skip KBF compile.

This Star Trek Continues is rather interesting, too bad there are only four episodes.
