DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

A fully on-demand constant pool would be a bit slow.

Yknow, the class file string size is limited to 65k, I wonder how the compiler treats really long string constants. Would it be an error or would it just StringBuilder them on initialization? This does limit the number of packages a class can be in however. This means the maximum number of sub-packages a class can be in is 32,767. The package depth that is.

Pulled out my desktop, which has two CPUs and a mechanical keyboard so a bit of an upgrade from my laptop. However the screen resolution is smaller at 1024x768. This means that in my text editor at least the 80 columns fit just enough for the most part.
