DISCLAIMER: These notes are from the defunct k8 project which precedes SquirrelJME. The notes for SquirrelJME start on 2016/02/26! The k8 project was effectively a Java SE 8 operating system and as such all of the notes are in the context of that scope. That project is no longer my goal as SquirrelJME is the spiritual successor to it.

Debug text is good for debugging.

Before I did all this work for CHECKCAST. I could do it again as that operation is simple enough in SSA to do, however it requires some branching and usage of INSTANCEOF. CHECKCAST is basically just if (!(o instanceof class)) throw new ClassCastException("" + class); else co = (class)o;. Doing it this way however could allow for SSA optimizations and such. However if the input object is null then it stays as is. The Java decoder does not exactly know the types of variables on the stack. I should add some type safety to the stack operations and such.

Well that could be done, however that would complicate the Java stack handling. Although it would be more type safe the actual encoder from SSA could handle stronger values being set for objects. In fact, that could be done on operation creation.

Now that I have a single method translated so far I can translate it into native code before I work on other methods. Doing it this will I will have the bulk of SSA operations to handle.
